Step-by-step: How Driver Robot installs the right driver for your Ethernet card
-
Test preparation and hardware scan
To prepare for this test, we installed a new PCI Ethernet card in to our test machine without any drivers. Windows detected it as an "unknown device", and it was not functional. The computer has a second, functional Ethernet card connected to the Internet.
Driver Robot scanned our computer in about 90 seconds, and identified the "unknown device" as an Ethernet card that was missing its drivers.
-
Hardware/driver scan results & report
After the hardware scan, Driver Robot reported on its results. It showed that the Ethernet driver had driver updates available, and offered to download them for us.
We allowed Driver Robot to begin its automatic download and installation of the missing Ethernet driver.
-
Automatic Ethernet driver installation
Upon completion of the driver download, Driver Robot automatically installed the drivers for the computer's second Ethernet card. We then tested the network connection, and it worked flawlessly.
For us, this confirmed it: Driver Robot is the best tool for automatic installation of Ethernet card drivers.
Driver Robot is our top recommended tool for installing Ethernet drivers.
